Church in the World is not a class about politics...

...it's a class about the Church.
I'm not a political scientist. I am a pastor. I know more about the Church than I do about politics.
I am more interested in the Church than I am in politics.

The Church is political in that it has to do with the "polis" -- the community of people working together for the flourishing of society. Jesus talked about faith in a way that is about more than just your personal relationship with God (it's also not about less than that).
What I'm saying is that the goal of Church in the World is not to get you to think more about worldly politics or to embrace a particular political platform. The goal is to get you to think more about the Church and its place in our society.
Politics is good for some things; Christ is Lord of all things. His Church is called to be faithful to Christ and Christ alone.
